Hi everyone, Richland County Recreation Commission is creating its Ten-Year Master Plan, which will guide parks, facilities, and recreation investments for the next decade. This plan will shape what our community looks like for years to come — and right now, public input matters more than ever. Our area is growing rapidly, especially in Northeast Richland County and Blythewood, and current recreation infrastructure is already falling behind. While lighted fields are urgently needed, the reality is that our community needs much more than just individual fields. What is truly needed is a full sports complex that includes: - Lighted soccer fields - Lighted turf fields to allow play after rain and reduce cancellations - Space to support multiple sports and age groups - Adequate parking, restrooms, and spectator areas - Facilities designed to grow with the community Without intentional planning now, we will continue to struggle with limited access, weather-related cancellations, and a lack of safe, consistent places for youth and families to recreate. RCRC has launched a public survey, and this is our opportunity to clearly communicate that our area needs a comprehensive, well-planned sports complex — not just temporary fixes. 👉 Please take a few minutes to complete the survey and specifically mention the need for a full sports complex with lighted soccer and turf fields in the Northeast and Blythewood areas: Survey Link: https://hpmeijgbb.cc.rs6.net/tn.jsp?f=001w7WCKClZijmr6Pm9KFz_QuQ0Nq5_Elook3Y1hiKr_70hdlpGXJFBICB-4pPYWPOtFxltsBCn0uQSTWn-AC1cErI-tNxH0aIODLf7sF6ypkVe-ESHgk4fBdaSfss_ZFogWCkj6AyBvejbE2dWryi0flDj_9fZrJBneRgXG0w02Bk=&c=x5LhGTFFGASmpD0dkJlt9db0toiTc_ZW7JdTXffBnB-XeTWt0ippEw==&ch=z7I3ZxbNhseGiTVJN9VpoDyYeZnfsO40tOPJ-OGDDBsCrYjQMAGNpQ== The more voices they hear, the stronger the case for meaningful, long-term investment in our community. Please share this survey widely — this is how we help ensure our growth is matched with the facilities our families deserve. Thank you for taking the time to support this effort. Best, Jonathan
